Major General J.M. Babbington (LOVE)

£595.00

Medium: Signed Ltd. Edition

Dimensions: 30" x 30"

Edition Size: 95

Description:

A colourful boxed canvas by contemporary artist Alex Echo, entitled "Major General J.M. Babbington (LOVE)"

Alex’s artworks are inspired by his love of all things British – including James Bond, Queen Elizabeth II and the Beatles. In fact, the American philanthropist lives in a 500-year-old house in Surrey and has a full English breakfast twice a week!

These are the first limited edition prints to be born out of what he calls an “expanding funhouse of creativity, memory, nostalgia and an ever-growing love of England”.

Speaking on this piece, he says: “The two-up two-down format represents the iconic terraced houses of England. It’s the house where parents raised their children, who listened to pirate radio. It’s the house of young couples starting out, and of hopes and dreams. The black background symbolises uncertainty and the unknown. It features the colours of Yellow Submarine.”
